As part of the nationwide celebration known as Take a Kid Mountain Biking Day, Youth Infusion and Trips for Kids Pocono Flow will be hosting a family riding event for all ages on Saturday, October 6, 2012 beginning at 11:00pm at Big Pocono State Park.  The nationwide event is supported by the International Mountain Bicycling Association (IMBA) and held every year in October.

Those participating in the ride on October 6th, will have the unique experience of having the Friends of Big Pocono State Park provide some history of the park and trails.  It’s a wonderful way to get outdoors and reconnect with nature.

Youth Infusion has worked on the Scout Trail relocation, turning a fall line gully into a fun to ride trail section at Big Pocono State Park.  Participants in Saturday’s Trips for Kids Ride will get to see this section of the trail as they traverse the south rim of Big Pocono.  They will also ride a section of South Trail scheduled for relocation.  In the future, they will have the opportunity to volunteer at this and other trail projects in the Park.  They can learn valuable trail building techniques and the concepts behind sustainable trail design and construction.  Snacks and water will be provided. The speaker for this Saturday’s Trips for Kids Pocono Flow bike ride is Pocono Outdoor Club’s Trail Care Chairman, John Motz.

Anyone interested in joining Youth Infusion and the Friends of Big Pocono State Park this Saturday, October 6th, 2012 must pre-register by contacting Youth Infusion at 570-266-5125.  If you don’t have a bike or helmet, Youth Infusion will provide them for you and it is completely FREE.  All you have to do is pre-register for the ride.
